Get Access to More Books: Free e-Library Cards for Non-Residents
Expand Your Library Access Beyond Local Borders
Some Library Systems Offer e-Library Cards No Matter Where You Live
Many library systems now allow you to access their e-library collections regardless of where you live, providing a gateway to vast collections of ebooks and audiobooks. This access is invaluable as the availability of information online faces increasing challenges.
Access to Information is Under Threat
Censorship is on the rise, and texts and media are being restricted or removed from online platforms. In recent incidents, the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine was hacked in October, and MTV removed its entire news archive — two decades of articles lost. In one Florida county alone, nearly 700 books were removed from classrooms in 2023. Warner Bros. even deleted Cartoon Network’s website and videos in August 2024.
Access to libraries also means access to other media they’ve collected over the years. This is why diversifying your e-library cards is a valuable way to gain access to books, information, and media that may not be available in your local area.
